Trying to change the background colors of a few sponsor banners so they do not blend into my pages, white on white sucks, is there a script or tool to do this.

You can edit the graphic itself in something like Photoshop (just add a Hue adjustment layer)

OR you can make it stand out from the background with a little css.

For example, this will put a shadow round it together with a solid white border making the image/iframe look sunk into the page. Like the thumbnails on here https://www.tacamateurs.com/refer/the-f ... 0000/tgp4/

Code: Select all

<style>
.bannerimage {
  border: 2px solid #fff;
  box-shadow: 0px 0px 8px 0px rgba(0,0,0,0.8);
}
</style>

<img border="0" src="/path_to_image/banner.jpg" class="bannerimage">
It will work with iframes too

Sorry I dont

I guess the question is - Is the banner generating click thrus and making you money ??? Possibly not if its blending into your page background. The whole idea of a banner is that it should stand out and attract clicks.

Maybe its better to switch to a different sponsor with better banners ??? See my signature link for details of our affiliate program

Does what photoshop does but for free. You can use photoshop tools such as brushes, swatches, gradients, objects, fonts, templates, etc. It's easy to use and upload any tools you have without needing to register. If you used photoshop before, you'll take to it like a fish takes to water.

Not for them if the background of the banner is the same as my site or it clashes in color.

Much better to use .webp images. They are less than half the size of .jpg and can have transparency like a .png

Yes one of my colleagues uses it on a Mac with no problems. Plus I see they have extended their 30% discount sale until November 15th

Its well worth investing $30 to $40 to convert your site over to .webp images. The page speed increases (which google now says is an essential factor for your rankings) are phenomenal. Since we switched over, all our pages on https://www.tacamateurs.com are lightning fast and A rated in GTMetrix
