Name brand v generic drugs

is there any reason not to get the generic drug and save money, or are generics not made with the same ingredients and to a high standard?

Asking because my mom has been prescribed 2 new blood pressure pills and they are quite expensive if she gets the name brand ones.

They are all regulated by the FDA so they should be safe you just save some money with generics.

I think it has to do with patents. Generics aren't permitted until the patent for a drug expires. That's one of the reasons why a lot of times the SOBs do minor tweaks to drugs and medical devices to lock in patents. They're all a bunch of greedy crooks. If you can get a generic version of a drug ask the doc and save your money.

I think drug patents are good for 10 years, and yes they are all greedy.
