FYI, agreeing with you that homelessness is more important than faking another trip to the moon.

Erm they did. Apollo 11,14 and 15 installed laser reflectors on the moon that we have been using daily to measure the distance between the earth and the moon ever sinceBrasSmonkey wrote: ↑August 26th, 2023, 12:12 pmthe only way i would believe. if they put a light source on the moon that could be see from earth...

i think that would be retail and religion...

If it was accomplished 50 years ago what is taking them so long to do it again.

they can't get it right to keep things alive... weird they never tried to mine metals from the planets with probes.

Because we are NOT in a race with the Russian's anymore. The only reason we are doing it AGAIN now is because China has said they are going to do it
Why would they mine metals on other planets with probes ??? Think of the cost of hauling that all the way back to earth (not to mention the complexity)BrasSmonkey wrote: ↑September 3rd, 2023, 2:49 pmthey can't get it right to keep things alive... weird they never tried to mine metals from the planets with probes.

because i don't think the right materials are on earth! aliens did not get their materials from here!tacnet wrote: ↑September 4th, 2023, 1:08 amBecause we are NOT in a race with the Russian's anymore. The only reason we are doing it AGAIN now is because China has said they are going to do it

NASA and ESA have planned the Mars Sample Return Mission but thats only going to bring back a few grams of material. Its going to take 3 spacecraft, the Mars Perseverance rover (which is already there) to collect the samples. A lander to pick them up and an orbiter to bring them back to earth. And its going to take another 10 years to complete
All that just for a few grams of material so you can see why they are not mining metals on other planets
