Minimum payout via paypal option.

Affiliate is owed $20.

Sponsor pays affiliate $20.

Affiliate receives $19.42 after PayPal 2.9% transfer fee.

Sponsor pays nothing in processing fees.
Again not true. We pay £2.99 per paypal transaction because it is linked to our business credit card. Plus paypal then convert the money from UK pounds to US dollars at a favourable rate to them.
It is true, from a USD perspective. I have a PayPal business account too. And all funds sent to it are subtracted 2.9% as a PayPal transfer fee.

So, you pay £2.99 for each PayPal transaction regardless of the amount? If you send out £1000 you are still only charged £2.99? Perhaps that is a matter of the settings in your business account regarding different currencies.

I am no expert on the £ currency. But still.. A business account is still a business account. USD is only 2.9% for each transaction regardless of the amount.
I dont receive money via Paypal so Im not sure what the charge is but when we send money, Paypal charge us £2.99 admin fee and then the conversion charge which is always slightly less than the current exchange rate

So it says that you will send £X and the user will receive $Y and we always make sure that the $Y is the full amount owed. Ive always assumed that the user receives the full amount because that's what paypal says

It sounds like we are paying the admin fee rather than you

Lat I knew, the USD is worth more than the £ ..

From my perspective your membership charges 1 Month Membership 30 Day Recurring Access -- USD $29.95

So ... to me the £2.99 becomes redundant to pay an affiliate via USD paypal?

No .. On the USD end PayPal subtracts the 2.9%

So if you are sending £ to USD you are paying £2.99 and the receiving USD side still gets 2.9% subtracted .. making paypal make more money .. hmm.

Affiliate pay out options: (EXAMPLE)

Option 1 - I am a high profile site and only require a minimum payout of $1000 either directly deposited into my bank, or by paxum, or by check. You pay all processing fees.

Option 2 - I am a medium profile site and only require minimum payout of $500 either directly deposited into my bank, or by paxum, or by check. You pay all processing fees.

Option 3 - I am a low profile site and I may require a minimum payout of No less than $20 or no more than $100. I accept a 'Pay Me Now' option via my PayPal or by my Cryptocurrency wallet. I will pay the processing fee.
... In any case .. this is not about Euro / USD

It is about paying an affiliate what they are owed as described in Option 3 .. letting the affiliate pay the 'processing' fee.

Regardless of the currency type. If sponsor is paid in USD then Euro should not complain, right?

Send me $20 USD from the UK/Euro and I can see what is going on.

The £2.99 is not a conversion charge (that's in addition). Its the admin fee that paypal charge us to send money via our business credit card

Believe me, the conversion charges are horrendous and we DO swallow those. Yes we charge the user in USD (because everybody knows USD) but the credit card processors (ccbill and/or our merchant account) convert that into Euros because we are located in Europe. Our bank then converts it into UK pounds and then Paypal convert it back to US dollars for us to send !!

Each time it's converted costs us money but those charges we pay ourselves as I dont believe thats something we should be passing onto our affiliates

Its something that we are looking into but most users (and affiliates for that matter) dont use crypto. With credit cards users have some protection but with crypto there is nothing

I may well happen in the future though

Oh .. you're talking about protection as in 'Insurance' .. from Visa / Mastercard ..

Hah!

Once crypto is in a wallet it is in a wallet. No need for insurance.

Credit cards use interest rates to use them. Charging people money just to use one.

In any case .. there is a simple solution for sponsors to pay LESS to NO 'processing fees' generated by well known processing software like NATS or CCBill.

The sponsor can still be paid and collect profits via their NATS and CCBIll and pay out to affiliates using PayPal or Crypto with LESS to NO processing fees.

It's just the checks being printed and the wire/paxum payouts that sponsors have to pay more in processing.

It is NOT IMPOSSIBLE to pay small pay outs to affiliates via PayPal or Crypto. Setting up a crypto wallet is pretty damn simple as well. ALthough I do suggest your own hard wallet rather than a hosted crypto wallet.

PayPal is simple also. Regardless that there may be some currency differences. As I am sure there are the same differences when being paid out via CCBill or NATS or Paxum.

Point is, is that THERE ARE ALTERNATIVES to these 'Minimum Payout' models that have been in circulation since the early 2000's.

I would suggest that more sponsors look into Cryptocurrency signups and payouts as an alternative payment method. There are many programs that accept cryptocurrency and/or PayPal that avoid 3rd party processors that charge ridiculous amounts of processing fees. Look for them! Research them! Use them! Stop paying banks!

And how far do you think we would get if we went to our billing companies (eg NATs, CCBill etc) and said "We dont want any minimum payouts anymore and we want you to send us our money for FREE" ???

We must pay around $100 a WEEK in admin fees. Its the way the world works

There is no need to ask NATS or CCBill anything about minimum payouts. It's not their concern. You pay for CC processing either way. This is about paying affiliates that request to be paid smaller amounts.

If you send out money from your PayPal account using your cash balance, instead of using your PayPal Credit Card, you would not have to pay the 2.99 per payout via Credit Card.

If you offered a PayPal subscription option, PayPal would take 2.9% of the membership price. Adding affiliate referral account number to the paypal subscription should not be difficult to do.

PayPal business accounts do not charge monthly processing fees either. Their 2.9% is taken from each transaction.

Processing via PayPal (USD):

A $19.95 membership - 2.9% PayPal Processing Fee of $0.578 cents = $19.37 profit.
A $29.95 membership - 2.9% PayPal Processing Fee of $0.868 cents = $29.08 profit.
A $39.95 membership - 2.9% PayPal Processing Fee of $1.158 cents = $38.72 profit.

Paying out an affiliate from your PayPal Cash Balance where the affiliate pays the processing fee:
50% of 3 $19.37 signups = $29.05 - Send $29.05 to affiliate - Affiliate receives $28.21 - Sponsor pays nothing.
50% of 3 $29.08 signups = $44.92 - Send $43.62 to affiliate - Affiliate receives $42.35 - Sponsor pays nothing.
50% of 3 $38.72 signups = $58.08 - Send $58.08 to affiliate - Affiliate receives $56.39 - Sponsor pays nothing.
