Fortiguard is pissing me off

#1

Post by TheButcher » July 26th, 2023, 3:30 pm

I have a program owner trying to view and register here and he keeps telling me some privacy software he is using blocks sponsorchat.com

He even sent me a screen capture of that message from fortiguard.

I tried sending them 2 messages through their contact form but that does not work.

I have an SSL certificate, Avast running all the time on my end, TrustedSites shows it clean, but my account with them is not unlimited so after the first couple of weeks in the month it reaches the maximum page views and stops showing up until the counter resets on the first of the following month.

Who, what is Fortigaurd because this is pissing me off.

It’s a large firewall vendor so your probably blocked across all their products.

Thanks for the feedback, not sure how the board got blocked for phishing when it is clearly not the case. I could not get though to them using the contact forms on their site, I gave up after a few attempts so they do not think I am spamming them.

I'll try hitting them up again tomorrow see if their contact form works.

Peace

Erm this looks suspicious :-

Code: Select all

<script type="text/javascript" src="https://cdn.ywxi.net/js/1.js" async></script>
Its right after you </head> tag. Is that something you have put in ?

It looks like someone might have hacked your page ?

Yes I added it, that is the code for https://www.trustedsite.com/

I do not have the bigger annual package for 100,000's of visitors, it gets very expensive, as in over $1200 a year so when it reaches the monthly number of visitors it stops showing the TrustedSite floater that comes up on the lower left of the footer.
It resets every first of the month until you reach the account limit for visitor. You might have noticed it in the first couple of weeks each month.

It looks like this

I can delete it and say hell to TrustedSite.

Trusted Site is quite a well known website security authentication company, I would expect FortiGuard to recognize their code if that is the reason they are reporting sponsorchat.com as a potential phishing site.

ok thats the only thing i can see that you are not pulling from your own server and therefore have no control over

I agree, Trusted Site is a well known brand but you never know, that file could have been hacked and is affecting your sites reputation. I would suggest taking it off for now

The problem with sites like Trusted Site is they are a prime target for hackers because if a hacker can breach them then they know their code will be automatically loaded onto thousands of other websites that have the Trusted Site logo

Not saying thats why Fortiguard have blocked you but its something i would probably remove if it was me
