Anybody watching the FIFA womens world cup ?

They reckon they will have an audience of around 2 billion people this year !!

USA are favourites but the underdogs seems to be doing well so far. I think England are in with a good chance too as we won the Euros

Personally I prefer to watch the womens game. Its much cleaner and more fluid than the mens game

Adrian I like watching women too but you see that last goal Messi put in the net on his opening game for Inter Miami, no one can do what he does.

Even David Beckham was crying lol

Hopefully Messi will boost the profile of football (soccer) in the USA

The USA womens team are two time world champions and if they win it again this year, they will be the ONLY team (men or women) to win the world cup 3 times in a row

Has any one addressed the white elephant in the room, do you think trans women have an advantage as participants of a women's team?

Unless he transitions into a trans woman he will not be considered a female football player

Not heard of any trans women in the world cup ??. Wouldn't have thought they would be allowed as your right, they would have an obvious advantage

Yeah but how many of them were trans ???? Nobody cares if they are lesbian, gay, bisexual or whatever. I notice that article conveniently doesnt mention how many of them were actually transexual

If they were born a man then thats wrong and I would have thought they wouldn't be allowed to play in the womens world cup.

Surely there would be global uproar if there were biological men playing in the womens world cup ??

"Soccer player Quinn made history when the Canada midfielder became the first out transgender athlete to play in a FIFA World Cup this year.

The midfield anchor, 27, played 90 minutes in Canada's opening match against Nigeria on Thursday, which ended in a 0-0 draw."

ok i dont agree with that at all

Maybe its different for individual sports ? I thought I saw something a while back in the olympics where a load of women refused to compete if a transgender was allowed to compete ?? You cant have men competing in womens sports

There was an interesting thing on the news the other day similar to this. I forget which sport but a woman athlete was told she was not allowed to compete unless she took a drug that lowered her unnaturally high levels of testosterone. She refused and she won her case because despite her high levels of testosterone, she was still bioligically a woman. Just the same as if she had been unnaturally tall. Like that 6ft2 French striker thats playing in the world cup at the moment

My only concern with trans women participating in women's sports is the following. Why have women's leagues such as swimming, tennis, football or wrestling if a trans woman can participate in it. I thought the whole point of women having their own games was to make it a level playing field. You take a professional man he and woman wrestler who do you think stands a better chance of winning.

Obviously a trans woman wrestler who has a bigger build, bigger bones and testosterone will have an advantage over a born woman. This is why I thought men and women had their own separate games.

Imagine if Hulk hogan in his prime transitioned to a transwoman and went in the ring with a woman wrestler, what chance would she have?

But what do I know.

Anybody watching the FIFA womens world cup ?
