cats and dogs

My GF moved in 3 weeks ago and has a tabby cat, she always picks on my dog. It's literally cats and dogs at my place every morning.Why can;t they just get along so I don;t have to wake up to them chasing eachother around the place.

We have one of each as well. Give it time and they'll adjust. We went from the cat chasing the dog when she was a pup, to the dog chasing the cat once she got bigger, to them tolerating each other, to them eating out of the same bowl. It only took 2 years to get to that point. Two looooong puppy years

Keep a dog instead of a cat, dogs are very loyal while cats are similar to ex-girlfriends

We had one of each when I was living at home, they got along just fine.But they were very small when my dad got them for us. First he brought home a lab then a few months later a kitten.

I like all animals but would rather not keep one any more, when our dog died it broke my heart.
