Well if they were smart they would sit down negotiate before that happens because it is not a question of if but how soon.

Winning a war means you have to have more men on the battle field and Ukraine is out numbered so they either need more men or a miracle.

I do not believe in miracles or the tooth fairy. The only thing I have to add is loss of life is sad and should be prevented. Let the politicians get their act together solve this problem.

In the 80s the Russian's heavily outnumbered the Afghanistans but were forced to pull out having suffered major losses. Same with the French in Algeria in the 60s. The war simply became too costly and they had to pull back

For Russia to win, 50 or so countries that have pledged to support Ukraine "For as long as it takes" have to loose. And before that happens, you can bet that the west will put every plane, tank and long range missile we can get our hands on into Ukraine

I agree with Butcher, nobody wants to see more death and destruction but Im afraid that seems to be whats going to happen. I believe that Russia will begin to see that this war is simply too costly and is unwinable

Remember, Ukraine is fighting for their very existence. Russia is fighting to simply expand its borders

It is costing Europe their economy, high prices, unemployment and a recession.

The war was always going to end one way, I said this before it started, Russia is going to win and dictate the terms of the final peace agreement. It is not about Russia expanding it's borders, it is an existential threat for their very survival and they are going to prevent that happening. Ukraine lost before this latest flare up on February 24th 2022 began. You have to watch other news outlets than the BBC, Skynews, CNN and basically all MSM outlets. They are repeating the same narrative they are told.

This latest counter-offensive that was hyped up for 6 months plus is not going well, they are fighting to the last Ukrainian where innocent lives are being decimated. This has to stop, Ukraine never had and never will have a chance to prevail.

We are wasting their lives and our military hardware when the real war is going to happen over Taiwan and we will be unable to fight it, because we gave everything to Ukraine. China is sitting their laughing their ass off how we are weakening our own capabilities.

As you know I hold completely the opposite opinion

There was absolutely NO threat to Russia from Ukraine or NATO before this war. Even wagner boss Prigozihn admitted that just last week. What possible threat could Ukraine pose to Russia ? This war has come about because Ukraine voted (by a landslide) to move west and have closer ties with Europe rather than East towards Russia. Putin tried to poison a previous Ukrainian president (Victor Yushcenko) to stop them moving west but it failed and he survived. Now he is using war to try and stop them

There was NO way that Ukraine was going to join NATO and we made that perfectly clear to Putin prior to his invasion. But Ukraine should have the right to choose their own future and Putin was not prepared to accept that.

Almost the whole world has united against Russia, not because we have all been somehow brainwashed by Jo Biden but because we can all see the danger this poses. If Russia gets away with it then China will be MORE likely to invade Taiwain. Putin's aggression is making world war 3 MORE likely, especially if he succeeds

And we are not weakening our forces against China by supplying Ukraine. Taiwan is an island, that means naval forces like aircraft carriers and submarines. Not tanks or ground to air missiles etc like we are sending to Ukraine

Just imagine if this was your country that had been invaded. You were about to loose your right to free speech, your right to vote and all the other things that democracy gives you and instead you were going to be ruled by a brutal dictator like Putin. Would you fight ??? Or would you give in and negotiate with them ? Because thats what you are suggesting Ukraine does

This war MUST end with Russia pulling its forces out of Ukraine and China realising that NATO will NOT stand by and see this kind of thing happen again. If we fail to achieve either of those goals then we are in a world war for sure

So where is Prigozhin ???? Nobody has heard from him since the rebellion !!

Apparently the president of Belarus says he's not in their country anymore. Saying he went back to Russia but they dont know where. The Kremlin has refused to comment on his wherabouts

Meanwhile Moscow state TV is showing images of Prigozhin's lavish house which they raided recently. Finding millions of dollars in cash, weapons, fake passports and even wigs !!!

All sounds like Putin has either killed him already or got him locked away somewhere and they are going to discredit him first and then kill him !

Who didn't see this coming, they are now trying to discredit the guy. Which I think would have happened to any one in any country, you go haywire on your government and you are not going to get away with it. I still say he should stay away form windows, door knobs, tea and other drinks. He is going to be dealt with sooner than later for what he tried to pull off.

"Russian state-controlled TV has embarked on an apparent campaign to discredit Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin in the wake of his failed mutiny in late June."

Noooo

Ukraine is a long way from being a NATO member. One of the criteria for joining is that your borders must not be in dispute. Obviously NATO doesn't want to admit a country and then find that they are immediately at war to protect that country

Exactly it would be the same as having a car accident then going to an insurance company asking to be insured so you can put the claim for repairs with them.

We are sending over cluster munitions, this is not good, it means more innocent people will die. How is this helping Ukraine if they step on unexploded bombs.

Its a worrying development for sure but I can understand why the Ukranian's have requested this and why the NATO allies (even those that have agreed to ban cluster munitions) have agreed to them being supplied

Russia has been using cluster munitions since day 1 of this war and have deployed over 10 million so far with a dud rate of around 30%. In other words thats 3 million unexploded bombs. The dud rate of the US system is around 1% - 1.5% so a lot lower. And of course, Ukraine is using them on their own soil unlike Russia who is dropping them on a foreign country

Again I think you have to ask the question, if this was YOUR country and you had seen your cities devastated, your civilians slaughtered and someone like Putin trying to take over..... would you fight with everything at your disposal ??? or would you give in ???

In the words of Winston Churchil "Nations that go down fighting rise again, but those who surrender tamely are finished"

Let's stop pretending war is about making friends, you either want to kill and destroy your enemy or you should be sitting around a table talking.

I am always surprised how people worry about how you kill the other side, war is not a game. It is who ends up capitulating in the end.

There is no second place winner in a war, there is one winner and one loser. So yes this sounds politically incorrect and I should be saying don't send them cluster munitions but the truth is you go all in or don't bother.

Will these make any difference to the final out come of this war, absolutely none, not to sound like broken record but we all know who is going to win, and it is a shame a lot of people on both side are going to have to die until Ukraine realizes they are not going to be the winner.

what is going on in Russia
