I found the movie very entertaining and James Cameron's Academy Awards acceptance speech rather long......

This is not looking good

It seems pretty clear its not on the surface otherwise they would have found it by now. And the chances of them finding it on the bottom within the next 40 or so hours are pretty slim

What a horrible way to go

CNN reporting says "Banging sounds" have been detected https://www.cnn.com/americas/live-news/ ... e-06-21-23
The ace against time is the limited amount of oxygen and carbon dioxide scrubbing material left in the sub.

What I have read and seen posted on TikTok clips is they are bolted in the sub from outside, so the only way they can get out is to be opened up from the outside. They are fighting against time before the Oxygen runs out. They are also saying if it is 12,000feet under the sea getting thee craft up is next to impossible. I want to think positive but they have no chance in hell to make it out alive.

Being a billionaire trapped in a space capsule with 4 other people running out of air konwing you might die any minute should make everyone be thankful for being alive and well, there is a lesson here.

Im amazed this thing doesn't have some kind of emergency pinger like they have on aircraft black boxes

Looks like these might be the last 5 victims of the Titanic disaster

I hope so but now there will be some wacky people who want to go see the Titanic and this craft ( assuming it never comes up).
My other guess is civil lawsuits will be filed for wrongful death o some case in the near term.

Yeah Im sure there will be lawsuits but am I right in thinking the founder of the company (and therefore the one everybody would sue) is on board the submarine ?

Interesting thing I just heard. If they do find the sub, they dont have to worry about decompression. They can just yank it up as fast as they can. Thats because the people in the sub are only subject one atmospheric pressure (same as on the surface). Apparently its only divers that have to worry about decompression because their bodies are under pressure when they dive

Just something I didn't know

Do I care if they get rescued, not hoping that they get to die but this is so much of a nothing story. Five rich people went in some fun trip knowing the risks. Now tax payers form a few countries are spending money to find them. If they went on some clinical trial to find a cure for aids, covid or cancer I would be concerned. They spent $250,000 each for a few hours trip. They could have donated $500 each that would have made 2,500 poor families be able to buy books, clothes, shoes or food for their kids, that I would be clapping for them.

Fuck this waste of time taking over the news.

By all predictions the on board supply of oxygen has been exhausted hours ago, things look bleak now.

Looking bad they found a debris field down where they were searching for the Titan submersible.
