If they wanted to have a woman as the secret agent they should have started a new franchise with a woman, run the 2 in parallel just as they did when the "Six Million Dollar Man" series in the 1980's gave us "The Bionic Woman."

So much for the speculation from 4 years ago, that a woman would play the part. The only thing missing is will it be a transexual, since that is the key buzzword now more than women in starring roles, time will tell.

Never been a racist re-read what I said, Bond can be anyone but a woman, it just does not make sense to take a character who has been a man for 50 plus years turn the role into a woman. A spin-off with say agent 008 as a woman might work but 007 has been guy.

Not true I am saying you don't go change the whole character after such a long run, have another series of female, black, Asian who ever character play another agent. That has nothing to do with not wanting to see a black guy on tv, it is keeping the character the way it started out.

Remember "The six million dollar man" then they spun off "The Bionic woman" Both were entertaining and had they brought in Lindsay Wagner to play the part of Steve Austin it would not make sense.

Not everything is about race when a person is white, black or any other skin colour. Don't look too deep into things you can find racism in a cup of coffee if you look too hard. I used to drink my coffee with milk until a very good Italian friend told me one day why you ruining the flavour of the coffee adding milk, I tried it black and liked it, I drink it black ever since.
