Italy has banned ChatGPT
I wonder who else will ban ChatGPT
"Italy has become the first Western country to block advanced chatbot ChatGPT.
The Italian data-protection authority said there were privacy concerns relating to the model, which was created by US start-up OpenAI and is backed by Microsoft.
The regulator said it would ban and investigate OpenAI "with immediate effect".
Millions of people have used ChatGPT since it launched in November 2022."

Can ChatGPT be used for customer support?
ChatGPT can automate routine tasks, such as answering frequently asked questions, providing instructions for common issues, and handling simple customer requests. By automating these tasks, ChatGPT can help to: Reduce the workload on customer service agents (e.g., customer service chatbots)

That did not take to long for them to ban it, what other countries have banned it so far.

cant see how they would be able to ban it ????
Its the same as when countries say they are going to block porn sites. Anyone with a VPN can bypass it

ok that makes sense. Thinking about it, I guess if they catch you using ChatGPT to write something then they can prosecute you because thats proof you've accessed it. (Unlike porn where you are just viewing it)TheButcher wrote: ↑April 7th, 2023, 6:50 pmIf they pass a law that will make it a misdemeanour to access it with vpn…….
But I do think that the days of countries being able to block portions of the internet are long gone. The whole idea of a VPN is that its impossible to tell where you are or what you are looking at.

VPN's be traced back to the user by the credit card you use to register for it.

True but that information would be subject to all kinds of data protection laws and would therefore require a court order to access your banking records. Something that is highly unlikely for a simple $20 VPN registration. The of course if you had paid by crypto........plumpprincessxxx wrote: ↑April 8th, 2023, 12:45 pmVPN's be traced back to the user by the credit card you use to register for it.
The point Im trying to make is that state run firewalls simply dont work anymore. China had a massive firewall for decades but over the last few years, its become pretty much redundant because of the rise of VPNs
Same with all these countries / states that say they are going to ban porn. They say it to win votes but they never actually follow through with it because they know its impossible to enforce because of VPNs
