I appreciate what you are saying but i think thats where trade expert screwed up. ie by NOT offering a subscription option

Over the past few years almost ALL software has moved over to the subscription model as they can make a LOT more money that way. Those that didn't move to subscriptions have all gone bust

Pretty much everything we use now is subscription (eg Microsoft, Adobe, Font Awesome, Proxypass, XML Sitemaps etc)

We even pay $10 a month just for JW Player's HTML5 video player. Im sure if I put some time into it I could write one myself but for 10 bucks a month its not worth the bother. I'd rather leave it with them and know that they will keep it up to date. Thats where they make their money

If trade expert had followed suit, they would be making thousands of dollars a month by now

My guess is they are very good software developers but lousy when it comes to sales and marketing

well it would be a addon like codecanyon. you pay for upgrades and bugs. yeah jw player is free with brand you pay to remove that. have you looked over the option i gave you? i installed it yesterday. im going to do the paid version.

Your right. i think im probably going to write my own trade script to be honest. At least then we wont have to rely on some 3rd party to keep it going

We already have the incoming traffic stats working with our affiliate system so it shouldn't be too difficult to upgrade that to a full incoming and outgoing stats system

This will be the 3rd time we have had to completely dump our traffic trading script and start again because the provider has gone bust. It never happens with any of our other online software because they are all on a monthly subscription and therefore the developers have an incentive to keep it up to date

This is partly due to the rise of tube sites with full-length videos and search engines favoring such websites. To sustain our business, we've had to take on additional projects.

One of the main challenges in supporting a project like TE3 is the sheer volume of support requests we receive daily. Often, users don't consult the documentation before asking for assistance, expecting free support. The time required to resolve issues varies significantly, sometimes taking just 10 minutes, while other times requiring several hours.

Furthermore, many issues are server-related, necessitating extensive communication with server administrators to find a solution. We've been working on a new version of TE3, ensuring compatibility with PHP 8.1. However, the features remain largely unchanged from the previous version.

When it comes to adding new features, we want to prioritize those that benefit the majority of our users. We understand that some users request unique features, but catering to specific use cases can add complexity to an already complex system, potentially hindering the experience for other users.

We're open to considering new features based on your collective feedback. If there's a general consensus on the most desired additions, we'll be happy to explore their implementation. Once again, we apologize for the recent support delays and appreciate your understanding.
