I think Musk did not take the comment by the Ukrainian ambassador to Germany too well.

Yesterday Musk aid he can not give Ukraine the starlink satellite system for free any more, that someone has to pay for it.

Supposedly Musk did a U-Turn the next day and said he'll carry on paying for it

Putin cant afford a long drawn out war.

The longer it goes on, the harder its going to be for Putin to re-supply his army. Even if he has the finances, nobody is supplying the weapons for fear of sanctions. (Even China has backed down from giving him military support). Whereas Ukraine has got over 30 countries committed to supplying them for however long it takes so they're getting better equiped day by day

I hate to say it but one way or another i think this is going to come to a head in the next 2 or 3 months, if that. Hopefully not nuclear

I dont "think" he will go nuclear as he would be condemned by pretty much every country on the planet. But he has used chemical weapons before in Syria

You would think so but its a political thing. If Putin officially declares it a war then the state apparatus kicks in with marshal law, strategic nuclear defence, thousands of conscripts etc etc. That would be a lot harder to sell the to the Russian people, especially as their country is not physically under attack

Thats why Putin keeps referring to it as a "special military operation". Makes it sound something far away and not affecting the Russian people.

The idea was that by annexing those regions of Ukraine, he could say that any attack on them was an attack on Russia itself meaning he could declare war

Either way he is rapidly running out of steam. Ok he can throw those Iranian drones at Ukraine's power grid but that's not going to stop them taking back the territory he took

Like every other war in history with a negotiated peace treaty or negotiated ceasefire. They have all ended when the 2 sides agreed to either stop the fighting or make a peace treaty.

The sooner they sit down hash out a deal the better for the innocent people, war is a result of failure to negotiate, I didn't come up with that line but heck if I can remember who first said it.
