With inflation rising it is not good to know we are now in or about to enter a recession, llf4532

It is not just the US but many countries are at the door step or in a recession now, the question is how deep will it be and will we see a repeat of the 2018 global financial meltdown.

These cycles get announced after the fact so my best guess is we are already in a recession.

You can call it whatever you want, when i was in school 2 consecutive quarters of negative GDP was the text book definition of a recession.

The fact is there have been 2 consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth in the US. The First and second quarter numbers for 2022 the GDP fell by 1.6% and 0.9% respectively.

I am not arguing with you either, the definition I leaned and think most people know fro a recession is what I posted previously.
People spending money means absolutely nothing, you still have to eat, pay rent or mortgage, fill up your car to go any where......

what are you suppose to be doing??
What a recession means?
Officially, the National Bureau of Economic Research defines recession as “a significant decline in economic activity that is spread across the economy and lasts more than a few months.”

i don't care if rich people are not buying shit.

From the Harvard Business School Online.

"A recession is formally defined as two quarters of negative GDP growth,” says Patrick Mullane, Executive Director of Harvard Business School Online. “By that definition, it seems like we’re heading toward one, but it's hard to predict its severity or how long it will last."

Over the years Ive always found a recession is good for our industry

People dont go out so much so guys stay home and would rather spend 20 bucks on a porn site than 100 bucks on a night out

You may not believe this but I did good in 2020 and 2021 when lock downs were on again and of again, and people worked from home.
