One option is - You can achieve this if you use htacess and split traffic based on browser language.

It is one option but not really the same as country specific. I mean they speak English in a lot of countries, take India, you are not achieving the desired result using browser language.

You need a Geo IP lookup script. Something like https://www.maxmind.com/ does the trick

You need to be a little bit careful though. Partly because this can put an extra load on your server (particularly if youve got a high traffic site) but also to make sure you dont get penalised by google

It can affect your ranking if google is displaying one page in their search results but the user is being sent to a different URL. If its just a translation or localised version of the original page then that is usually ok but if its a completely different page with a different topic then that can cause problems
