[BUSINESS] ftp downloading problem

Question I am trying to download a tar.gz file,the size is 2,833,902

My speed test results are:
138.4 Mbps download
7.74 Mbps upload
Latency: 30 ms

Are they reasonable, so what is the issue.

What error you get while downloading the file? Paste the FTP log here from your FTP tool ( eg filezilla)

I am on Filezilla and after 20 minutes only 583K had downloaded. Not just once but this happened 3 times this week, I ended up closing the ftp.

I am no expert but your server might be throttling download because your internet connection speed seems good enough.

test using ftp.zetta.net.au or ftp.otenet.gr , and try downloading a file from here, and see if you get 1-2MBps+ speeds

No into your filezilla its a open Ftp server to test file downloads


then download any test file , and check the speeds

It keeps popping an error message

"Site Manager - Invalid data
You have to specify a user name"

You dont need to add it to the site manager, if you are doing that then select Logon Type : Anonymous , otherwise just put the url in the Quick connect host , and leave user pass black like below

Gotcha I tried download

Status: Starting download of /pub/testfiles/testfile.300Mb

It' taking forever. I think it has to be my internet connection even though when I run a speed test it seems fine.

How much speed you see when you download on the bottom. like i get around 3MBps

Too low , according to your net speed you should be getting 1MiB/s+ , check with your ISP if they are throttling your FTP
