NATS and MPA3

I'm working with a guy who has content and wants to start a site, my role is just a consultant. What we're debating here is should he go with NATS or MPA3, what do you guys recommend. He is most concerned with who has the best support.

My honest experience based on using both is NATS you can do far more complex things with but the system is a steep learning curve and support will keep referring you to outdated FAQ's.
MPA3 not as flexible as NATS but support is willing to get their hands dirty and personally show you how to do things.

Either way both do not make a whole lot of sense at first especially since they use different terminology for the same functions that is fine if you have never used either before but can be confusing if you have.

Personally I would not recommend one over the other they both have their good points and their flaws.... if this is your first paysite and it is relatively simple then go for MPA3 they are open to negotiation on costs usually.... if you have a large network of sites and they are rather complex especially where billing is concerned then go for NATS but it would be more cost effective to hire somebody that is familiar with NATS rather than relying upon them, plus the fact NATS fees increase drastically depending on your sales ! I don't recall if MPA3 does this or not I don't think so...
