[BUSINESS] New feature from FireFox - Cookie protection
Did you see this new feature from Firefox, "Cookie Protection" you can opt for, this is not good news for affiliate sales.
Getting rich takes making money, saving a nickel will not make you rich if you never make the buck

Affiliates are fucked with this move. So much for 90 day cookies and you getting the sale if they clicked on your affiliate link.
Never have your honey where you make your money.

This is only blocking 3rd party tracking cookies.
Basically, only the site that sets the cookie can read it which is pretty much how all affiliate systems work in anycase
It should NOT affect your affiliate sales.

Not sure but I think chrome might already be doing this. Im sure i read somewhere that they are blocking (or at least restricting) 3rd party cookies.TheButcher wrote: ↑May 29th, 2022, 10:50 pmI suppose if Firefox is doing this now the other browsers will follow suit
This is only for 3rd party cookies. So if you look for something on amazon and then go onto another site, it wont be able to blast you with adverts for whatever you were looking for on amazon
Normal cookies will still work fine (the internet simply grind to a halt if they blocked all cookies)

You ever check how many cookies are on your browser, it's a huge list.

Every site uses cookies these days. I think we use around 6 or 7 (which is actually quite low compared to some sites).
There's affiliate cookies, login cookies, google analytics cookies, tracking cookies etc.
I think its ridiculous that sites have to display the cookie compliance notice these days as I cant think of a single site that DOESNT use cookies
Just my opinion

Honestly nothing to get worked up about as an affiliate.
