Has something changed with Google where having deepers subdomains are good for ranking?

I am seeing more and more of subdomain.subdomain.domain than ever before

I am no seo expert but I can not see any reason why it should make it more enticing for Google.

especially community sites.

You have to be able to read and have access to statistics to comprehend all this.

I do not know what deepers subdomains mean?

If you meant a subdomain on a subdomain.

The URL has always been the main way Google recognizes a site/page.
The more descriptive the URL and the more accurate it represents the content the better ranking for that page/site.

Most people thought it should be domain/ something. This is call confirmation bias.

After all the URL is top part of the snippet, the first thing you read. Thus if you are doing your SEO correctly and comprehend the importance of the domain name, which includes the subdomain, then you should comprehend why google would like subdomains more than domain / something. Just people ARE NOT doing it, because of confirmation/cognitive bias!

It is starting to catch on!

Which is why I am using and selling NUDE.com subdomains.

Ask anyone that thinks they know anything about web sites and they will say how shit my sites are. HOWEVER, my limited SEO efforts are really really really good.

Cause I use subdomains.

This is my edge.

Since EMD update of 2012 Google has slowly given back the authority of DOMAINs and subdomains and their ranking power.

again this is why the URL is top of the snippet on all SERPs>

so NO Google has not changed, people are just starting to notice that subdomains are working.
The Google AI is learning that subdomains help, so if you consider that a change, then yes cause Google is ever learning ever changing.

Sure they are! Also it is a matter of opinion, so "NOT True" is just your opinion and I do not accept it as accurate cause I know better.

Many of my clients are using their own subdomains to expand their sites instead of buying new domains.
Several of the other web firms I work with are pushing subdomain expansions.

The entire point of this thread was that someone noticed sites using subdomains more appearing on Google more. Which I noticed years ago.
Hard to out advertise companies like go daddy and out confirmation bias Google, cause so many people have cognitive bias.

You are just way behind the times.

Not to start some drama but I agree with gotonudecom, it is a good way to build traffic to the one domain, save on registration fees, plus get the one domain big as opposed to trying toget 10 domains big in traffic and seo.

I'm in to subdomains because I get good results on Goog.
Stop looking for reps if they don't care why waste your time and traffic at their program, fuck that.

I have started to use subs but still prefer and use more directories for one reason, if I move hosts with directories I have no extra work to do during the move.

Subdomains are NOT the new TLDs, they've been around for years and they DONT give ANY SEO benefit to your main site

There are pros and cons to both subdomains and subdirectories

Google treats subdomains as completely seperate sites so you have to decide whether the content is sufficiently different from the main site to warrant its own subdomain.

Advantages of subdomains
  • Subdomains can be a good way of inserting keywords into your URL but dont over do it else you'll get penalized as spam
  • Subdomains are generally focused on a narrower topic than the main site and therefore they can help give you 'niche authority'. That is more authority but for a smaller topic
Disadvantages of subdomains
  • Main site SEO Authority - A site that has everything on one domain could be seen as more generally comprehensive (and therefore more authoritative) than lots of smaller subdomains. Remember your main site will loose whatever SEO benefits it might have got if the subdomain was part of the main site instead.
  • Traffic splitting - Because subdomains are treated as separate sites then you have to start your links & traffic build up from scratch. If you already have a site with lots of backlinks then its probably NOT a good idea to split those links across all your subdomains. Its far better to have one BIG site ranked highly on google than lots of small subdomains ranked nowhere
There is no right or wrong way. Google say do whatever is best for your users but dont make subdomains just for the sake of having subdomains

See https://www.searchenginejournal.com/sub ... eo/239795/ for a discussion on both options

Just to give an example of where subfolders work better :-

We get a lot of users searching for individual girls on our network eg CurvyClaire is one of our top sellers

Therefore, we deliberately put all our girls onto one domain ie https://www.tacamateurs.com/curvyclaire/ . That way, anybody searching for "CurvyClaire" will have an SEO benefit for tacamateurs

If we had setup a subdomain instead ie. https://www.curvyclaire.tacamateurs.com than tacamateurs would get NO benefit from those searches. All the "link juice" would just go to that subdomain

This is one of the reasons I like directories, from my limited understanding of seo.
