I spend way to much time reading, reviewing and the replying to DMCA notices from my hosting company and from Google.
Maybe two have been legitimate.
One was a model that wished she had not taken the hours and hours of photo shoots and videos and then started harassing the studio/copywrite owner to take down the content.
ALL of the others are a small handful of DMCA services that search google for text. This text is their clients name or worse a web site that want to control the content of one of their performers.
This is a black hat SEO technique. Submit false DMCA claim, so Google and your hosting company attempt to force you to remove the content from your site.
My understanding is Google removes your link from google upon receiving a notice, but that after you submit a counter notice you link goes back in, just not where it was.
So minimally, official Google notices are temporarily hurting your SEO. So reply quickly with a counter notice.
The last four, I replied to, have the persons name on the page, so text and NO content of theirs.. Not explaining why,
Many of the others are search results page on XXX.NUDE.com. and submitting search pages is certainly perjury as no content can be identified.
Fair use is your best defense. So be sure you know what that means are are using it properly.
