All it will take is for NATO to get involved in the Ukraine war and bingo we have WW3, the Ukrainian president is asking and demanding NATO goes put a "No fly zone" over the skies there, if we do this then we will have WW3 no two ways about it. So far no one on our side is taking his bait to go get involved, hope the clear thinking stays and they do not change their mind and get the world into a nuclear war with Russia.
He reminds me of a drowning person trying to hold on to anyone to save his life and if they other person drowns then he does not care.

We have already stated that we will NOT provide a no fly zone and we will NOT put nato troops on the ground. Its never a good idea to tell a dictator what you are NOT prepared to do.

Putin knows that the west is scared of war and he is using that fact against us. Thats why he is ramping up the retoric and threatening retaliation for any NATO no fly zone etc.

He knows he can do whatever he likes in Ukraine and the west will not intervene directly because we are desperate to avoid a war. This is EXACTLY what Hitler did, we let him swallow up several countries before we finally declared war

Im not saying i know what the answer is and I truly hope it doesnt come to war but I dont think we should be telling Putin that there are certain options which are "off the table".

I totally agree. It just feels like Putin is holding the threat of nuclear war over our heads because he knows none of us want that

Exactly. Putin wont dare use nukes. He knows we got way more than he has and he knows the Russian people would never stand for it either

This is a new kind of warfare. The US & EU (together with UK, Canada, Australia and others) have MASSIVE economic power. Even China doesnt want to get on the wrong side of us right now.

Russia is going to end up in the stoneage and unfortunately its the Russian people that are going to suffer. The only question is whether they will blame the west or blame Putin
