[BUSINESS] setting up a monthly membership

#1

Post by NSWDave » February 23rd, 2022, 3:27 pm

What options are there to setup a monthly membership for a site, not CCbill I know but I want something that makes sense for a $5 a month fee, I had this idea form tacnet's post in another thread today.

"I really dont understand why TE dont switch to a monthly subscription like pretty much every other software app is nowdays

Not many webmasters will want to stump up $500 up front for a license but they would go for say $10 a month. That way TE would make a lot more money and they would be more inclined to support and develop it."

There's lots of other options to ccbill. Epoch, Segpay are a couple i can think of. I think they both offer paypal options too

Segpay have also got Paypal now but last time I looked, their charges were like 17% which is more than 3 times what you would pay if you get your own merchant account

most sites can not afford and or get their own merchant accounts that is where these companies come in and milk so much per sale.

Im guessing its for some software/app that you have ?

I would say whatever the app, if they will pay $5 a month then they will pay $10 a month. The cheapest app we currently use is JW Player and that starts at $10 a month so i would use that as a starting point

Just my suggestion

You need to sell a lot of memberships for that app to make real money

2000 a month is $10k a month every month, not a bad deal, $5 is not a lot of money for most people.
