This came to me when reading the Yandex thread here. Of course Google is the big one, but are their search engines that are popular in different countries, for example Yandex in Russia.

Years ago this is going back 25 odd years the search engines we used most were Lycos and Alatvista.

well I am Google woman, when I need to find some thing I go to Google.

I use a local directory for health food stores, but Google for everything else.

Language is a factor, if you are Chinese, Russian, Spanish speaking you would naturally use a search engine in your own language so do not wrte them off as irrelevant just because you think everyone uses Google, they don't.
