renting my domain for a year question

Is there anything to know about renting my domain for a year,this guy wants to give me $500 fora year to use my domain. I keep my domain no changes at godaddy and even have it on my server. He just wants it to build a site and use it for a year before deciding if he want to make an offer to buy it.

You can pay me five million dollars I will not let anyone use one of my domains. So much can go wrong. You are the registered owner of record for the domain, they use it for illegal purposes or upload illegal content you are going away, and I don't mean on a cruise vacation. What if they spam an email address on that domain you are also going to be in trouble.

Have them buy it, transfer the ownership let them do whatever they want otherwise don't do the rent thing, it trust me.

Why anybody would want to build a site on a domain they dont own is beyond me ???

If he doesn't end up buying it then whatever traffic he has built up will be yours when the year is up. And if he does want to buy it, then you can pretty much name your price. If he doesn't pay it then you can close his site and take all his traffic

If its on your server and you can keep an eye on the content etc then I would go for it. The worst he could do is maybe get you blacklisted for spamming but thats quite easy to remove

Yes to that idea no to renting it,as said above too much can go wrong with some guy putting shit up or spamming it.
