ADULT BUSINESS CHAT why so many non business threads
why so many non business threads in ADULT BUSINESS CHAT ?
I want to discuss business, not the majority of this facebook style dribble.
If we are going to have three pages to click through to get here, why not add one more and divide business chat into two categories.
NEW! Introduce yourself. (You must make your first post here and get voted into being able to post anywhere else. this will cut down on spam and let us know who is really interested or just fucking around wasting our time ready their shit.)
Forum Rules (your second post should be here, so we know you know where the rules are.)
Adult Business Chat
Other Business Discussion ( so you lemmings have a place to post your BS threads)
How to become an adult webmaster? (by invitation only)
Hosting Discussion
There is no such thing as an SEO Expert or SEO for you dummies!
Top Affiliates (where only paying affiliates reps can post their spam and the rest of us can talk shit about how crap they are, or how awesome) could also have subcategories of adult and mainstream.
Announcements, (which should email everyone that joins and only approved announcements are emailed.)
The goal would be to make this a forum easier to navigate and find educational material.
This will help SEO and make it easier for noobz to find what they want and possible come back!
other suggestions
Politics
health
After all categories are a really good thing.
The top ten active threads after the directory or to the left or right.
The top 2 or three in each category as part of each category listing!
A newsletter for people that want supper special deals and to win prizes.

This helps my point. Thank you!
FYI, People already doing this!
They are already posting political BS in the main thread and I have to read over the stupidness to find business related topics.
If the politics is in a politics category then we can ignore it easier.
For example
Is this business related? Politics? or something else?
"Transgender Filipino-American Kataluna Enriquez is Miss Nevada"
IF I am looking for business related adult webmaster topics and resources, how is this helping?
I could have brought up "Titty Tuesday (pics)"
Bill Cosby to get out of jail
FUNNY GIFS
etc.

Luckily it's (usually) easy to identify the biz threads by their title making it fairly easy to bypass the dribble. Breaking the board down into topics is useful if there's a large amount of daily posts. If the number of new posts is not substantial, I find it to be annoying to go to multiple topics (traffic, trades, whatthefuckever) and I usually don't. Maybe it's me, but it seems like there's been less posts in recent times compared to a few years ago.
Also, I fucking hate the new index page. Yeah, I'm sure theButcher has his reasons but I still hate it. Now I have to update my bookmark or risk carpal tunnel syndrome due to the additional clicking.

We tried this so many times, separate business and non-business sections (forums) but it ends up not working. People will still turn non-business threads into business chat and vice versa. In the end what matters is having legal chat which we have always been fortunate to have, so instead of offending some by telling them you are off topic in this section or why did you hijack my thread with your non-business reply I figured let it be.
I think we can try separate the business topics by adding [BUSINESS] and [NON-BUSINESS] so people starting threads can choose, but as before half the time no one will care to choose. But let's see I'll add them now.

because there are NO moderators here to move the topics to the correct place.
why did you hijack my thread with your non-business reply I figured let it be.
again this is why there are fewer and fewer posts and more stupid activity.
I work in a lot of forums and they all have issues. That aquarium guy has so much traffic he blocks people left and right. shuts down off topic posters and even shuts down threads. Which is why I left. Shutting a thread down because people are giving the moderators shit was too much for me. punishing everyone for the deeds of a few.
anyway.
Without some type of moderation, I certainly do not have the time to read all this dribble. same reason I do not facebook.
A few rules that are enforced to the letter, is a good thing.
Screw offending people, just move their thread to the appropriate category.
There are, in effect, two things, to know and to believe one knows; to know is science; to believe one knows is ignorance.”
― Hippocrates
"Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge." - Charles Darwin
For many people, the more you learn, the more you realize how little you actually know.
If you are so afflicted by your ignorance that you are incapable of knowing that you are lacking knowledge in a particular area, then you are stupid and just do not know it.
When your own incompetence prevents you from seeing your incompetence.
This is called the Dunning Kruger Effect.
The world is full of know-it-alls who don’t actually have any idea of what they are talking about
the more aware we become of this phenomenon the better we’ll be at deciphering the trolls spouting fake news from the truth-tellers.
The basis of the DKE effect: The less competent you are at something socially or intellectually, the more confident you will be in your abilities in that area
What you don’t know can hurt you because, when you do the wrong thing, you won’t know it.
One reason is that people rarely receive negative feedback about their skills and abilities from others in everyday life.
Which is why I dont have a lot of friends. nor do I want them.
I do not like tact or being diplomatic I like to point out when someone is doing something wrong and I enjoy being treated the same way.
Otherwise we do not learn NOTHING!
People need honest feedback.
For this forum to grow and to make money, we need smart people to make smart threads and the stupid people to stay in the stupid people areas.
Then the smart people and the people that want to become smart can find the content that is smart.
In my professional opinion, decisions on the site functionality and navigation etc. should be made only after reviewing the site stats.
page views, CTRs, bounce rates, time on site, threads read, new threads, thread replies, banner clicks, banner views, etc.
without a statistical model and sample data then it is just your opinion

This is true here and on another forum I read daily, what starts out as a business or non-business thread soon takes on a new twist. So non-business threads are not always a bad thing on a forum.gotonudecom wrote: ↑July 11th, 2021, 12:12 amPeople will still turn non-business threads into business chat and vice versa.TheButcher wrote: ↑July 10th, 2021, 8:06 pmWe tried this so many times, separate business and non-business sections (forums) but it ends up not working. Like the previous post states, people helping makes a forum good. How can I help when I am forced to read nonsense to find a thread where I can help?
