instant gratification vs long term thinking (video)

(from devon brown - FB video link below)

Have you ever stopped to think about something as simple as planting a tree?

You know, several steps are involved like selecting the right spot, finding the right seedling or small tree, digging the hole, putting the tree in the hole with some loose dirt and fertilizer (or whatever it is that young trees like), and then all the watering to make sure it doesn't die of thirst.

Sure, you could hire someone to do all that.

You could even buy a larger established tree.

But there's one thing you just can't do...

You can't start out with a 50 foot behemoth of a tree. Most people don't have the resources to pull that off.

Sure, it would look great to have a fully grown tree right outta the gate. A nice patio under the shade, etc...

But for most, it just doesn't work that way.

It usually takes years to get the tree tall enough and thick enough to provide a nice shade.

OK, OK, enough about the green thumb...

Where am I going with this?

I just spent 4 hours raking leaves and cleaning my backyard, but oh shit getting off topic.

that's true

a farmer doesn't go plant seeds one day and expect a full harvest the next day

it takes several months for a crop to grow and yield vegies

and several years for a tree to grow and produce fruit

I can sell a big domain and make more than sell 5 small ones. In my business it's all about the transaction amount per domain.

Get rich quick is not my plan. I started out hoping to build a porn blog empire over 2 years, and working at it slowly but methodically.
