What do affiliates need to promote a sponsor?

I'd be interested to know from anyone here who makes money by promoting other sites. My question is what do you need from a sponsor to help you promote a site. Is it regular hosted galleries.
Or something else. We used to have hosted galleries for our affiliate program.

Well, your top 10ish affiliates aren't going to need FHGs, just links with a way to add campaigns and other basics.

You also have to be careful with allowing people to use your members area content. Things like making sure that they aren't uploading too much or full videos to tubes (Unless you want them to..), or that the entire members area isn't getting pieced apart for promos where the member won't see anything new, etc.

Affiliate promo tools are more for your newbie to intermediate affiliate to be able to promote easily, plus things that a few people still use like RSS/CSV dumps. These days, though, I find it much better to just make my own galleries from picture sets on my sites rather than redirect to FHGs.

The best way to get people to promote you no matter what your promo tools are: Have one of your top 6 affiliates post good stats at the Zoo and other forums ;)

50% recurring is on the low side today. I can do 5-8 joins a day on your sites but not for 50% I sell my joins for way more and I look for at least 65-70% because I can shop around.

Thanks for your thoughts on this. There's almost 11,000 videos on the site so I don't worry about too many videos been out there for free. We might get some video galleries created again just for those who do like to use them. I must admit I'm very disappointed that no one has signed up to the affiliate program since I started promoting here and a few other places. I'm actually really surprised by this. Our site is very popular with nearly 11,000 videos and the content is quite unique. Member retention is really high because of this and because we add lots of new videos every day. We've got many members who have been members for more than 7 years. Just think of all those rebills. Good suggestion about getting some affiliates to post about our affiliate program. One long term affiliate who does really well promoting out sites had done:

That does surprise me. I've just looked at about 10 top sites like Only Tease, FTV Girls, ect and they all only offer 50%. I'm actually thinking of promoting sites myself soon through a new site I'm going to create so I'm on the look out for good sponsors. I'd be interested to know of any affiliate programs that are offering 65-70%. I would think that any site that offers that amount is quite desperate and not a particularly good site. You could prove me wrong by posting some of them that offer that amount. You also need to bear in mind that though our sites "only" pay 50% of all sales and rebills they do convert well and member retention (rebills) is above average. We have so many members who just keep their subscriptions going. Some have been members for 7 years.
Also if you could send 5-8 joins a day I think you are missing out on making a lot of money. Sure you can shop around but how many good sites are there to promote that offer more than 50%.

Hard to say what exactly makes me want to link to a site.

Leak free tours, captivating content, ease of navigation on the site, regularly updated content, not too much hard sell........

They are all good points and that's quite a good description of our sites. Regularly updated content is a must because that will get affiliates more rebills.

Ratios it's all about ratios to me, if I end 1000 banner clicks from my end and I don't see good ratio I dump the shitty sponsor links . I work a lot of hours on se and my clicks are good shitz

Yes, very important. We have lots of original content added to our sites regularly. Where are all the affiliates these days? Certainly not joining my programs.

For good affiliates, I had to find them. It's hard work sometimes...
