Thinking of deleting my sitemap.xml file from my sites
Every 4-5 months I update my site maps and upload them to Google and Bing, the result is new pages do not seem to get indexed and if any thing some of the previous ones get delinked. So here is my latest idea, delete the sitemaps altogether let the SE's do their own thing. What is the concsnsus yea or nay?

Depending on how big your site is, you can get your sitemap file maintained by https://pro-sitemaps.com/ for just a few bucks a month (eg 5000 pages is just $6.29 a month)
They will crawl your site, build an XML sitemap file, host it on their servers and automatically submit it to google, bing etc. Nothing to install on your servers, just set up an account, put in your URL and forget about it

You want google hits or not, if you do then leave the fucking sitemap.xml where it is , hopefully in the root of the site.Everlpn wrote: ↑July 16th, 2026, 6:00 pmEvery 4-5 months I update my site maps and upload them to Google and Bing, the result is new pages do not seem to get indexed and if any thing some of the previous ones get delinked.
