Just saw this on CNN.com, Larry King has been hospitalized in Los Angeles with Covid-19, all the best to the legend.

"(CNN)Legendary talk show host and former CNN interviewer Larry King has Covid-19, according to a source close to the family.
King, 87, has been hospitalized at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for more than a week, the source said. Due to protocols at the hospital, King's three sons have been unable to visit him, according to the source.
King, who has Type 2 diabetes, has confronted a series of medical issues over the years, including several heart attacks and quintuple bypass surgery in 1987. In 2017, King revealed he had been diagnosed with lung cancer and successfully underwent surgery to treat it. He also underwent a procedure in 2019 to address angina. "

A hospital in California is facing a coronavirus outbreak among its staff that might be tied to an inflatable costume worn on Christmas to cheer up patients.

At least 43 staff members tested positive for the virus between Dec. 27 and New Year’s Day, according to a statement from Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center on Saturday. The hospital’s emergency department has been deep-cleaned, and all infected staff members are isolating.

The hospital is looking into whether the fan on an "air-powered costume" could have spread droplets after a staff member briefly wore it in the emergency department on Christmas Day.

“Any exposure, if it occurred, would have been completely innocent, and quite accidental, as the individual had no COVID symptoms and only sought to lift the spirits of those around them during what is a very stressful time,” the hospital said.

Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center will no longer allow such costumes in its facility, the statement said."

The UK has been put under stricter lock down measures today. Schools to be kept closed until at least mid-February, and people asked not to leave their homes unless essential. I say close the whole place down for 90 days clean up this pandemic once and for all.

Not just the UK everywhere, in Quebec it was announced schools, shops would be closed form December 25th until January 11th, it is not long enough. Keep it all shut down for a full 90 days, cases here are sky rocketing.

If you keep easing restriction, then lifting them, here and there, this thing will never be brought under control. I say go a full lockdown for 90 days get the job done one shot. It's a year of half ass measures everywhere.

Wionews is reporting 2 people who got the vaccine have a few days later.

"Norway is investigating the death of two nursing home residents who died after receiving doses of the Pfizer and BioNTech coronavirus vaccine.

It comes after a paediatric surgery assistant in Porto was found dead two days after receiving jabs of Pfizer's vaccine.

Medical Director of Norwegian Medicines Agency Steiner Madsen said in a statement ''We have to assess whether the vaccine is the cause of death, or if it is a coincidence that it happened soon after vaccination.''

The agency along with Norway's National Institute of Public Health are looking into cause the deaths.

Madsen also added that as people of advanced age are receiving the coronavirus vaccine first it is entirely possible that the deaths could be coincidental.

Pfizer Inc's CEO Albert Bourla had said in an interview that the company is "not certain" if those who receive its vaccine will be able to transmit the coronavirus to others.

After Pfizer's claim that the COVID-19 vaccine is more than 90 per cent effective based on initial trial results, a few volunteers said that they suffered side effects comparable to a flu jab, with one comparing them to "a severe hangover"."

As of Saturday we are going into a 30 day lockdown, all stores to close by 7.30pm, only gas stations and drug stores can keep regular hours, schools to re-open on the 18th not 11th. Curfew from 8pm till 5am. I think this is a very good idea, reduce the spread of the disease. The only thing I would hope for is they do not re-open schools on the 18th and extend that for another month too.

Europe is going through harder times than last year too. Hopefully with more vaccines being administered they can start reducing the numbers with time.

A curfew for 1 month seems harsh

Several gorillas at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park have tested positive for the coronavirus in what is believed to be the first known cases among such primates in the United States and possibly the world.

The park’s executive director, Lisa Peterson, told The Associated Press on Monday that eight gorillas that live together at the park are believed to have the virus and several have been coughing.

It appears the infection came from a member of the park’s wildlife care team who also tested positive for the virus but has been asymptomatic and wore a mask at all times around the gorillas. The park has been closed to the public since Dec. 6 as part of the state of California’s lockdown efforts to curb coronavirus cases.

Veterinarians are closely monitoring the gorillas and they will remain in their habitat at the park, north of San Diego, Peterson said. For now, they are being given vitamins, fluid and food but no specific treatment for the virus.

“Aside from some congestion and coughing, the gorillas are doing well,” Peterson said.

While other wildlife has contracted the coronavirus from minks to tigers, this is the first known instance of transmission to great apes and it is unknown if they will have any serious reaction."

Most places did not take it seriously like China did. They locked down for a couple of months, closed the whole place down, now they are back to normal life. WE are a full year into this, getting worse by the hour and still no one has the balls to order a 2-3 month full lock-down.

Bottom line our lives have become terrible, small businesses are dying off, online mega retail outfits are becoming ever more richer.

The deaths are not slowing down, this shit is not looking good.

(CNN)More than 38,000 Americans have died of Covid-19 in the first two weeks of the new year.
Another 92,000 are projected to die from the virus over roughly the next three weeks, according to an ensemble forecast published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The numbers are scary and reflect what public health experts have repeatedly warned: While the end is in sight -- with the help of ongoing Covid-19 vaccinations -- the nation still faces challenging times ahead.
Here's why we can have some hope about the Covid pandemic
Here's why we can have some hope about the Covid pandemic
With so many deaths from Covid-19, researchers said Thursday the pandemic will reduce US life expectancy by more than a year to 77.48 years for 2020 -- lower than any year since 2003.
"Some reduction in life expectancy may persist beyond 2020 because of continued Covid-19 mortality and long-term health, social, and economic impacts of the pandemic," Theresa Andrasfay of the University of Southern California and Noreen Goldman of Princeton University's Office of Population Research wrote in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences."

It is very obvious this year is way worse and going to get worse than lat year. Anybody says otherwise is either dreaming or lying.
