I don't know, I'm trying to get this decent job this week and I've just been working on a local restaurant's marketing and SEO.

Lots of sponsors used to have pod tools. About 15 or more years ago. Haven't heard pods mentioned in ages. Does it really have to be per day? Why not just use a simple line of code randomly serving pic with corresponding link with each load?

I think some details of what was described are a little bit different than a standard POTD script. :p Standard ones are pretty simple and I don't think are very effective anymore.

Agreed, they're not. Overlooked by surfer just like random banner ads. Same thing. There's import tools out there to import RSS pic, description link etc that will let you do rewrites, schedule and then use a widget to place features image linked to post on site. The tools are out there.
