Mr US president we do not do them on purpose and when there were wildfires in California our Canadian fire fighters came to try help put them out.

"U.S. President Donald Trump is adding his voice to the chorus of Republican politicians who are blaming Canada for wildfire smoke drifting across the border.

Hundreds of active wildfires, most in northwestern Ontario, have triggered air quality warnings for states close to the Great Lakes, stretching from Minnesota to Maryland.

Trump threatened to top up the import tariffs he's already levied on Canadian goods in response to the smoke that has drifted south of the border."

Any reason to stick it to Canada that is how I read this idea to force Canada to become the 51st state.

Wait until he actually implements it and the court challenge, it will probably not hold.

He signed the EO yesterday

"OTTAWA – U.S. President Donald Trump is imposing a new 50 per cent tariff on some Canadian goods, including wine, hockey sticks and cement, for what his administration is characterizing as discriminatory trade policies after signing a new executive order on Monday.

Specifically, the U.S. is taking issue with provincial bans on U.S. alcohol, supply management on dairy and certain tariffs and quotas on cars imported to Canada from the U.S., according to three proclamations released by Trump.

In a background briefing with reporters on Monday, a senior administration official said the president is using Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930, which is an emergency trade authority that empowers the U.S. president to impose additional duties of up to 50 per cent on countries that discriminate against U.S. commerce."

No other president in our history has levied as many tariffs as far as I know, he loves tariffs.

At this point it will be easier and shorter to list countries he has not sanctioned and or imposed tariffs
