I feel like I'm in hell this week

My father got a full set of dentures and it cost him $2700 and he had dental coverage from his work. Dentures are not cheap.

Yeah, not cheap. I had to cough up $3300 and that's with a 20% off sale but it did cover all the extractions. I got off pretty good. Could have been much higher depending on where you go.

I'm now in my 40s, had some issues with my teeth in my late 30s. Some just fell off due to uncleaned (by the dentist) teeth for 3 years, uncontrolled sweet diet, and of course getting old.

What I do passively now is eat vegetables almost everyday, dramatically minimize on Coke and other sweet drinks, less ice cream, no sugar on my coffee, just black. When I eat cake, just half of its slice. It wasn't easy at first. I'm now comfortable with it. Of course, visit the dentist every 6 months.
