I think we can safely say that TE have given up and gone away

Both Butcher and I have tried contacting them via email, ICQ and their support forums but no response

Its such a waste as so many people on here have said they would happily pay a monthly subscription for their product but they just dont price it that way. If they did they would be making a LOT more money out of it and would be more likely to still be supporting it

My opinion they made the money in the beginning and saw sales slow down for obvious reasons and gave up moved onto something else to make a living.

a subscription won't fix it. they may have died like jay dough did. his site is still there cause he had partners. let me see if i can get them to reply. looks dead over there. go figure the owners nick is rock!!!

I appreciate what you are saying but i think thats where trade expert screwed up. ie by NOT offering a subscription option

Over the past few years almost ALL software has moved over to the subscription model as they can make a LOT more money that way. Those that didn't move to subscriptions have all gone bust

Pretty much everything we use now is subscription (eg Microsoft, Adobe, Font Awesome, Proxypass, XML Sitemaps etc)

We even pay $10 a month just for JW Player's HTML5 video player. Im sure if I put some time into it I could write one myself but for 10 bucks a month its not worth the bother. I'd rather leave it with them and know that they will keep it up to date. Thats where they make their money

If trade expert had followed suit, they would be making thousands of dollars a month by now

My guess is they are very good software developers but lousy when it comes to sales and marketing

I agree what 95% of the time happens, you get a good programmer who comes out with a script but has zero sales and marketing skills.

well it would be a addon like codecanyon. you pay for upgrades and bugs. yeah jw player is free with brand you pay to remove that. have you looked over the option i gave you? i installed it yesterday. im going to do the paid version.
