Trump's not threatening to tariff Russia directly. He's threatening secondary tariffs (ie a tariff on countries that still buy Russian oil and gas which is mostly India and China)

They care a hell of a lot more about doing business with the USA than they care about doing business with Russia. Remember Russia's economy is only on a par with South Korea, both are ranked around 2 trillion dollars
The big question is, will Trump follow through on this ?? Whenever Trump announces a new tariff these days, there's barely a jolt on the stock market (unlike when he launched his "Liberation Day" in April when they nearly crashed overnight) because most people believe Trump will back down as he has done time and time again. In fact, the Russian stock market went up slightly when Trump announced this secondary tariff measure against Russia because he gave them 50 days deadline. Russia was expecting a lot worse and its a clear sign that this is more bluster than actual intent.
Trump could very easily cut off Russia's lifeline here and end bring an end to this war. Let's face it, he slapped a 50% tariff on Brazil the other day (which has a much larger economy than Russia) simply to save his buddy Bolsenaro from prosecution. Placing a secondary tariff against Russia would mean so much more and could stop the dying. Why he is waiting 50 days is what's concerning most world leaders. It simply gives Russia time to slaughter as many Ukranians as possible
We will just have to wait and see what he does.

I'm not 100% sure about India, Modi plays both sides like Turkey's Erdogan but China is never going to leave Russia, their foreign minister even came out and said they will not do so.
It does not matter how many weapons the US or nato send to Ukraine or the sanctions and tariffs they impose on Russia, the SMO was launched because Russia saw an existential threat and they will not negotiate on the core principals they set out on February 24th 2022. The best solution is to sit down, accept Russia's terms for an end to the conflict otherwise they are going to resolve it on the battle field. I hate what is happening and people are dying but the end was obvious on day one, Ukraine had no chance, has no chance and the sooner they accept the reality the sooner it will end. But the longer it goes on the better for the military industrial companies so they will push the war. Look at it without feelings or emotions then things become so much clearer. When ever Ukraine gives up which they will, they will have to sign the deal Russia puts in front of them. There is no doubt in my mind they are going to capitulate in the end.

It's just propaganda's narrative and playing the victim tactics
For many people including russians it was obvious that they take Kyiv in 3 days.
Ukraine made them retreat. Ukraine took down their flagship in Black Sea with no navy. Ukraine destroyed third of their strategic aviation with fpvs.
And they even not captured one big city, except Mariupol, which probably was captured with insiders help.
Not even one.
They already lost 500K KIA+WIA
And if they try to capture, for example, Kharkiv - these will double.
So capitulate? There is looooooong way to this with maaaaaaany dead russian fuckers (those who enters Ukraine border).

The core principals that Putin used to start this war were basically that Ukraine had no right to exist. He said so in his 2021 essay. How does ANY country give into that ?? Think of it this way, if Trump launched an invasion into Canada to force them to become the 51st state, would you be saying that Canada should just give in ??? I think most Canadians would say "NO".TheButcher wrote: ↑July 17th, 2025, 12:34 pm

This has always been about more than just Ukraine. Its about whether we want to live in a world where 'might is right'. Whether a stronger country should be allowed to annex a weaker democratic country without any consequences. This is exactly why NATO was formed after WW2, to prevent this kind of thing from ever happening again. Ok Ukraine is not a member of NATO but does that mean we should just look the other way and let Putin get away with it ?? Finland and Sweden weren't NATO members either but they very quickly joined the alliance once they saw what Putin was doing.
We simply CANNOT allow this kind of territorial expansion to happen because once we do, EVERY country is fair game including Taiwan !

I have heard it was around 800,000 in 2022, whether that is true or not I have no idea.

Peace with russia don’t worth a paper on which it signed.
The best guarantee of peace is a STRONG army.
It’s sucks this way.
But it’s the way it is.

Where and when will Trump tell Zelensky to pack his bags and leave Ukraine?
My money is in the early Fall and he'll go to London.
"Zaluzhnyi is now seen as the most credible successor to Zelensky. I have been told by knowledgeable officials in Washington that that job could be his within a few months. Zelensky is on a short list for exile, if President Donald Trump decides to make the call. If Zelensky refuses to leave his office, as is most likely, an involved US official told me: “He’s going to go by force."

The only people with the authority to remove the Ukranian president is the Ukranian people. Not Trump or Putin and the people voted overwhelmingly for Zelensky. In fact his approval ratings are in the mid 60s....way more than almost any other democratic head of state.vblogger wrote: ↑July 21st, 2025, 7:43 amWhat if he has already???TheButcher wrote: ↑July 20th, 2025, 12:53 pmWhere and when will Trump tell Zelensky to pack his bags and leave Ukraine?

Don't forget, Zelensky is not the first pro European president they have elected. 3 of their last 4 presidents have been pro Europe and anti Russia. The one that wasn't (Yanukovych) was ran out of the country when he refused to sign the EU trade deal and instead tried to cozy up to Putin. Clearly they don't want to be part of Russia anymore
If Trump tries to remove a democratically elected president then I suspect Europe will put boots on the ground and that would take us a lot closer to WW3

The day will come when Trump tells Zelensky to get on his bike. He's just a useful tool for America to fight this proxy war with Russia. And no European countries can not do anything without America so whatever the US president says flies.
My 2 cents.
