All great cars but there is something about an S Class that makes them special. I love the BMW 7 series had the opportunity to drive a 2024 for a day but if it was my money buying it would have to be an S class. Years ago when I bought my first new E Class, I asked Dietrich the salesman (yes he was German) how it compared to the BMW 5 series and Audi 6, he said one line that has stayed with me. There are Mercedes and everything else. I know it might sound rude to some but he was right.Nicsdcmedia wrote: ↑March 20th, 2025, 8:55 amI had a porsche panamara that I loved, a cadillac CTS-V, an Audi A7, and currently I'm searching for a Mercedes S-550
I have been into cars since I was a kid, and had already made up my mind to get the E400 when I went into the dealership that day, but I wanted to hear his answer.

One of the all time great Mercs was the W124, from 1990 to 1995, if I find a clean well maintained example I'll buy it. Porsche assembled them for Benz,

Oh very interesting! I would love to look into that. I love some of the older mercedes and BMW, I've been obsessed with finding the V8 S550 2012 mercedes with low miles and good shape. I love that specific look and year of the S550 plus the V8 engine was their best. 2013 would work too. The newer models of the S550 are amazing as well just a little too much tech for me. Anything goes wrong there goes 10k.

Many called it the 4 door Porsche at the time, it was not just a 5.0Litre V8 stuffed into the engine bay of an E class. It was totally reworked and got BMW to sit up and say wait a minute we have the M5 let's up the ante.

My father had a 1990 300E in grey, solid like a tank, build quality was out of this world, one thing I noticed that 3L straight size was under powered for the car, acceleration was not that great. But boy when you closed that door you could hear quality. He traded in his Cadillac Sedan de Ville for one, and it was shall we say, a different car. He bought it as a demo and kept it 8 years.

A 2005 Ferrari 360 Spider Base is in the $65,000-$75,0000 range and they are a classic Ferrari if you ask me. I have a 2023 F150 4x4 and a 2024 Mustang GT, that is my next car when I sell the Mustang,Nicsdcmedia wrote: ↑March 24th, 2025, 9:12 amI have not! I see them for sale an awful lot though. A late model Mustang is a good daily driver, a 20 year old Ferrari would not be my first choice to drive to the grocery store every day. Never mind maintenance, I would worry about door dings. If I had a Ferrari it would be a weekend or going out car, my thoughts.
