Not justifying the attack but what did anyone expect when Israel bombed a diplomatic mission building in Syria and kill leaders of Iran, this was bound to happen.Any other country in Iran's shoes would react to.

The AP is reporting Israel's military has said they will retaliate.

Okay this is going to turn into a war if they do. Not good news at all.

The ball is in Israel's court if they strike Iran this thing will never stop Iran will hit back harder. Time every body stepped back said it's not worth getting into a regional war. Israel might be doing this to take the attention of gaza as they murder more people over there.

It seems to me they will strike and then Iran will hit them, this is not going to end. Netanyahu wants to escalate.

I think Iran's attack on Israel was more of a political thing than an actual military attack. Iran needed to be seen to respond but they obviously didn't want to escalate things so there seems to have been a lot of back channel discussions going on.

For example, Iran notified Turkey the day before telling them that the attack was about to happen, knowing full well that Turkey would notify the US and that they in turn would notify Israel. So Israel knew when the attack was going to happen and were ready and waiting to shoot down the missiles (which explains why they were able to shoot down 99% of them). If Iran really wanted to hit Israel, they would have used Hezbollah rather than try and launch a long range attack like they did. Those missiles were in the air for hours and even CNN was reporting that the missiles were "on their way" so its not like anybody was taken by surprise.

Also Iran were quick to come out and say that the operation was over, allowing Israel and its allies to stand down their forces.

An attack of this scale and not a single casualty suggests to me that this was not a serious military attack but rather a political move to satisfy the Iranian people that they had responded.

Of course it all depends now on how Netenyahu responds

I agree with that 100%, it was more of we want to save face especially at home so they don't try over throw our regime, they let it on a head of time so no one gets hurt. I hope Israel says okay fair enough one for one we still killed some of their generals and leveled their diplomatic building let's stop. But I think from all the news out there Israel is going to strike back and this thing will keep escalating.

These 2 are dicking around.

Israel attacks Iranian diplomatic compound kills a dozen plus people
Iran retaliates but does not mean to kill people or harm too much infrastructure
Israel retaliates last night sends some drones to some military airport

It's as if 2 5 year olds are fighting it out in a playground, what sort of attacks are these, either go all out beat the crap out of the other side or do not bother.

Both sides appear to be walking back and not escalating the situation. Let's hope neither side does another attack. We do not need another war to break out.
