True but things to seem to be getting a lot more hostile recently. Globally there seems to be an ever growing divide between democracies and autocracies with authoritarian states like China, Russia, Iran, North Korea on the one side and the great western democracies like USA, Europe etc on the other.
The great weakness of democracy (and I think people like Putin and Xi have figured this out and are trying to exploit it) is you've just got to wait 4 years and somebody else will be in power. And if not, you can always use social media and miss-information to screw with the election process
Either way, each side wants to see the destruction of the other and the spread of their own political system. There's a lot more at steak here than just Ukraine and Gaza
