My non-essential expenses and not including mortgage property taxes, health insurance, car payments, car insurance, electricity, water, gardener ( you get my drift) are more than $300 a week. How can you pay rent and live on minimum wage.

if the tips go to the servers that's fine , not if the establishment takes a part or all of it.

Restaurants and bars make their money off drinks not the meals.

I'll restate my point, wages should be factored into the price of the goods or services you sell. This bs about tips is a ruse. You should not expect a tip , my lawyer, doctor, dentist, banker, optician any professional I deal with does not expect or take a tip. pay your employees a fair and decent wage, if a customer wants to tip them that is their business.

Imagine your lawyer tacks on "18% Ferrari purchase surcharge" This is a joke man. It wants to make people feel sorry and cover the wages, fuck it.

At those wages the people who work at restaurants can not afford to eat at them, how sad is that.

Get a better paying job?

Tips should be voluntary not an expectation.
