President Trump and President Putin spoke on the phone for 90 minutes today according to CNN and it was a cordial productive chat. The US defense secretary Pete Hegseth has told the 26th Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Brussels that Ukraine is not going to get into NATO (paraphrasing) and that Ukraine is not realistically going to get back to it''s 2014 borders. In other words 2 of Russia's goals of the special military operation are pretty much now accepted.

I hate to remind everyone but I said day number one, Russia will win this SMO and dictate the terms of the final end to it.

Following up on my previous post this is a very smart move by president Trump, why waste money on Ukraine when it is obvious Russia has won, second make positive gestures towards Russia, so they do not cozy up to China, because trumps goal is China. I see his point of view but this war in Ukraine has brought Russia and China ever closer and that bond is not going to break, that train has long left the station.

Europe just realized who the boss is, they are scrambling to get a seat at the negotiating table along with Zelensky, the two top dogs in this war are going to talk make a deal and neither Trump nor Putin care what Europe and Ukraine have to say. It was always about the US and Russia, Ukraine got used and Europe just found out they are not important to Uncle Sam.
