I have never been a fan or desired to own a Porsche 911. I know there are people who swear by them and would give their right arm for one. Not me I have always thought it was an ugly, noisy (especially the original air cooled ones) inherently bad idea having so much power siting in the rear with a light front end.
Well My neighbour just bought a 2020 911 Carrera and yesterday he was washing it, when went out the house he said morning so I said you started a new business.He said what you mean, I said you hand washing cars for people now? To which he replied no I bought it last night, I was looking for a particular optioned out late 911 Carer found it.
I said congrats bad move, he started preaching about how it was the best sports car ever built. And I had no choice to let him know for the umpteenth time what I thought of 911's. We have had this chat a few good times lol.
I said it's a glorified VW Beetle for the rich who have progressed from owning the Bug lol. He started laughing and I said think about it, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche did the original Beetle then customers wanted more power so he did the 911. They both have the engines in the back, they look similar shapes and they both make a lot of noise and an Aston Martin DBS looks a hundred times prettier and can smoke your glorified beetle
We have this Porsche v Aston Martin feud for years, he feels passionately about his choice of cars and I do about mine. The only difference is he get 911's I look at Aston's online lol.
Any ways I thought I'd share my thoughts on a 911.
