Amen
Britain wants an end to the barrage of cookie consent pop-ups.

Hold on in the article it has
"The British government said it also wants to increase fines for nuisance callers from a current maximum of £500,000 to up to 4% of a firm’s global turnover or £17.5 million, whichever is the higher amount."
They hand companies a big fine for cold calling homes?
Wow this would be good news here, may be all those idiots calling to see if I want to sell my place might stop doing it. I am tired of all these agents continually calling to waste my time.

I love it when they call me and ask me to confirm my identity by answering a few security questions.24alex wrote: ↑July 9th, 2022, 1:52 pmHold on in the article it has

I just make sure I FAIL every question. Date of birth, mothers maiden name, post code etc. I just give them any old crap and they really dont know what to do then cos they're own rules say that they cant continue the call LOL
Last one hung up on me after I got my first pets name wrong 3 times in a row LOL

I stopped giving them my name, now I tell them you called me why would I confirm my name, address, date of birth and other personal information.
When I am in one of my playful moods and it's a call they placed by error asking for a person not me I say "Didn't you hear" and they usually ask what , I tell them he died last yea LOL.

It really is bull how people have to click all types of consent links to enter a website, especially an adult one.

All these consent, accept, warning popups are becoming too much. Make the internet open and free, not a mess of warnings.

I think whichever country does it first, the rest will realise that its a complete waste of time and follow suit. Nobody is policing it and all its doing is pissing off users
We've set ours to a single line at the bottom of the page https://www.tacamateurs.com/ and as soon as they click ANY link it assumes they've accepted.
I doubt most of our users even see it. Nobody said it had to be an annoying in-your-face popup
