Akismet the only plugin I have come across that really helps stop spam on my blogs.

if you want comments. who the fuck wants comments? buy porn or gtfo!

You realize comments are one way to get people's opinion on your posts and also keep them interacted with your site......

Never use a plugin that is more than one update old, it might be a problem.
