Why I got an ssl first time for 4 domains thru Godaddy, to make Google happy. But when I switched hosts to the one here with the banners, they do it free. Free is good enough for me.

Not to get in anybody's way but I stick with what I said in post #3.
Cause it does not do the JOB!

That is the point I am making!

Maybe I target that 1% that wants a highly secure and insured site. Maybe that is why I get paid so much to run non-adult sites.

I can tell the difference between a free SSL and a high quality SSL with added services. FREE is for most people, but I cater to the 1% cause they have the money. $200 is not out of their budget like $20 is out of the majority's reach!

I can not afford to spend $200 each, I just started and have 11 domains with sites.

Then get free ones.

It is important to know the options, not just get free cause people are cheap and POOR!

I use free ones for almost all my sites.

once you are doing business, the insurance is good!

The insurance is bullshit , go try to find someone that has actually made a insurance claim and got a payout

Free SSL is okay until you are selling something on your site. Basic plain sites free SSL is fine to start with. But ones you start making money from your site its good to invest $20-$50 into a Good SSL which will display your business name and give a better security and encryption.
Free certs expire every 90 days , so its a hassle to renew them if your hosting does not renews it using a cron you are fucked. A paid one is good for minimum 1 year. So gives more confidence to your customers that you are in for long.
