No question the new SL is nice but the 2+2 is a daft idea, have you seen the rear seats, there is no leg room.

It is just to get a lower insurance rating I think, no one can sit there.

People buying a car in that price range do not care about gas prices or insurance premiums, if that is their logic they are way off.
