We need manufacturing HERE!
No you dont. Products that are manufactured in the USA will cost twice as much as the same product manufactured in say China, Mexico, India etc simply because of the labor costs !!

Its estimated that an Iphone will cost up to $3,500.00 if made in the USA. https://edition.cnn.com/2025/04/09/tech ... index.html

Like most rich countries, the American economy is based on SERVICES. Far better to leave manufacturing to less developed countries where labor is cheap. That's why all those big companies moved their manufacturing out of the USA in the first place !

Do you want to help build the RED ARMY?!?!!?
Cheap is BAD, NOT good!

The products are a lot better, when they are made almost anywhere except China.
Friend of mine just left China and he was horribly disappointed at the quality of the manufacturing there.

I read that original article before CNN cut it down. Try reading more than just the headlines from CNN.
They took the highest estimated price, by Trump haters and used it as click bait.

Bank of America Securities analyst Wamsi Mohan said in a note Thursday that the iPhone 16 Pro, which is currently priced at $1,199, could increase 25% based on labor costs alone. That would make it a roughly $1,500 device.

Who the fuck buys a damn $1200 phone? Who needs a $1200 phone.
Spoiled ass, narcissists?

NO, they will not go up that much. That was the suggested retail price of the phone, NOT the price to create the phone.
Maybe Apple can NOT make as much profit for each phone.
Estimates suggest Apple's gross profit margin on iPhones can range from 40% to 60%.
Do they really need that much profit, on a phone?
Supply and demand will fix the high prices.

The way China is going, raising their prices, the prices are going up anyway. their prices have gone up around 15% before Trump took office, just over the past few years. The trend, of increasing prices from China, did increase after Covid.
China is increasing their prices, because they control manufacturing.
China is having major issues with jobs and you want to reli on them?

https://youtu.be/l0yGgW_iv1o?si=-KpCoHjCxOa8M_YX

U.S. manufacturing is costlier due to higher wages, These speculative costs are NOT nearly as high as suggested. I agree it will increase prices, I am willing to pay more for more home land security.

Increasing manufacturing jobs and building factories in the U.S. involves two job creation streams: manufacturing jobs (e.g., factory workers) and construction jobs (e.g., building factories).

Are you aware of the regional Multiplier? An economic impact model.

Typically 1.5–2.5, estimating indirect (supply chain) and induced (local spending) jobs are created for each new job created, varying by industry and region.
Total Jobs = Direct Jobs + (Direct Jobs × Regional Multiplier)

Do you want China in control of the world or minimally the products we use?

Paying a bit more is much better than what is going on.
Think of the big picture.

It seems to me that you fall for the hype and the lies too much.

The American economy should NOT be based on services.
It was not based on services when America was the strongest.

American manufacturing was critical to success in both World Wars, providing the industrial capacity to produce vast quantities of war materials, vehicles, and weapons, overwhelming adversaries through sheer output and logistical support.
American manufacturing tipped the scales by flooding the Western Front with resources, enabling the Allies to outlast Germany’s depleted industry.
Do we really want to rely on China to supply what we need to protect ourselves and our allies?
During both World Wars, the U.S.’s robust manufacturing (30–35% of GDP vs. 11% today) ensured self-sufficiency and global dominance in war materials, unlike today’s dependence on imports.

Finance, Insurance, Real Estate, Rental, and Leasing: $5.14 trillion (approximately 20% of GDP).
Professional and Business Services: $3.33 trillion (around 13% of GDP).
Government: $2.96 trillion (about 11.5% of GDP).
Manufacturing: $2.79 trillion (roughly 11% of GDP).
Educational Services, Health Care, and Social Assistance: $2.13 trillion (approximately 8% of GDP).
Wholesale Trade: $1.7 trillion (around 6.6% of GDP).
Retail Trade: Approximately $1.7 trillion (estimated 6.6% of GDP

11% is a lot, but we need more, because we need jobs, HERE!
We need to be able to reproduce how we won both world wars.

I know a lot of people that need jobs. Plenty of people that will ‘work’ for a living.

There are plenty of people available for these types of jobs.
7.1 million unemployed individuals are available for jobs.
Current Manufacturing Employment: Approximately 12.7 million Americans were employed in manufacturing in March 2025,

Which means we have room for growth.

A Cato Institute survey found that 80% of Americans believe the country would benefit from more manufacturing jobs.

Manufacturing jobs often require specific skills (e.g., data analytics, robotics, or certifications).
People think manufacturing means assembly lines, IT DOES NOT. Robots do that. We need people to manage the robots, drive the trucks (for a little while)

Had Nixon not started farming out the jobs to our enemies, then we would not be in the trouble we are now.

Trade route wars! Did you take that into consideration?

Do we really want a government that disappears its people controlling what products we can or can not have access to.
Last year, During Biden, China reduced supplies for rare earths and many other products to America and other countries.
Pushing for more US rare earths mines.

Are you aware of the tariffs China already imposed on America, for the past 35 years?

The main point is to take control of the products we need in America and take that control away from China.

By relying on foreign manufacturing for tangible goods like electronics, drugs, and defense components, the U.S. cedes control to other nations, compromising economic and national security, especially in disruptions or conflicts.
Reducing reliance is important, but it’s complex and requires balancing costs, feasibility, and priorities.

Domestic manufacturing ensures access to critical goods (e.g., ventilators, chips) during crises. The CHIPS Act (2022) aims to boost U.S. semiconductor production to 20% of global supply by 2030, reducing Taiwan/China reliance.

Onshoring manufacturing could stabilize supply chains and create jobs
Reducing dependence on China (e.g., for rare earths, batteries) counters potential coercion. Posts on X highlight fears of China “weaponizing” export controls, as seen with rare earth restrictions in 2023

Our freedom is worth YOU not getting phone made by forced labor.

7 Apple Suppliers Tied to Using Forced Labor in China

Forced labor is just another name for slavery.

Mexico needs jobs, part of the big plan is to get them to become a bigger partner with America, after we take out the cartels.

Think bigger and longer.

A little pain is worth it now.
Crying about a phone is wrong and weak..

All those big greedy companies moved their manufacturing out of the USA in the first place to make themselves rich at the cost of our national security.

Thinking that we do not need manufacturing is why China has the money to build their war machine and threaten the world with more wars. Taiwan and how many other nations live in fear of China.
My Australian friend tells me how much fear Australian’s are in due to China.

Chinese warships (Hengyang, Zunyi, Weishanhu) were off Australia’s coast from February 11 to March 3, 2025, conducting live-fire drills in the Tasman Sea (February 21–22) and circumnavigating Australia, tracked by Australian and New Zealand forces
China’s manufacturing dominance (~40% of global output) has fueled its PLA-Navy buildup (370+ ships), enabling power projection like the Australia deployment. This industrial allows China to intimidate countries like Australia and Taiwan.

What is China doing with Greenland? I am not asking you to tell me, I already know, do YOU?
China’s manufacturing dominance (e.g., rare earths, electronics) funds investments in Greenland’s economy, like seafood trade or potential mining deals, enhancing its power.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/china-taiw ... a-tension/

While not yet deployed near Greenland, (or are they?) China’s shipbuilding capacity (50% of global commercial ships, 370+ naval vessels) allows long-range operations, as seen off Australia. This could theoretically extend to the Arctic, supporting claims of future military presence.
Do we really want China between us and our allies?

Are you seeing more of the big picture yet?

https://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/balance/c5700.html
Why are we making China rich, oh yea so they can build an army and invade other countries.
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/01/worl ... aiwan.html

Big picture! Globalization is only good if the money is not spent on war machines.

We also need to increase our own food supply. I believe that should be done at home. At least for as many people that can do it. Healthy too!

NO. The $1,500.00 price tag is based on the increased labor costs at Apple's assembly plant ALONE. But Apple would also have to move their entire supply chain over to the USA too. No point in putting together an IPhone in the USA if all your components are imported and you have to pay huge tariffs. So that means the labor costs throughout the entire supply chain go up and when you add all that together, that's how you get to $3,500.00 for an Iphone. And its still the exact same product with the same components, design etc that you were getting from China

And YOU might be willing to pay more for American made products but I assure you, the rest of the world wont. The dynamics of global trade means that, all things being equal, we will ALWAYS seek out the best possible price

You take some big manufacturing countries like China, India and Mexico....that's nearly 3 BILLION people that are willing to work for half the wages of an American worker. Why should the rest of the world pay inflated prices for American manufacturing when nearly half the world's population will do the same job for half the price ? Its quite simple, we wont. The ONLY country that will be paying higher prices is the USA

And don't forget, most manufacturing these days is done by robots so you can forget about the millions of jobs you think American manufacturing is going to create

Has nothing to do with what I think. Has to do with what the professionals and experts are saying.
I don't care about the rest of the world.
America is what is keeping the rest of the world FREE to do trade.
China wants to take over and the dictate who gets to speak and who gets to live and who gets to be cut into pieces and sold as product.

Stop sending my money to fund the red army.

Tired of ignorant globalist only caring about money and not the safety of the people on the planet.

People that tell me don't forget robots do the manufacturing FFS I stated that in my post, so how would I forget it. I TOLD YOU! Did you read it all, if you did can you remember what I typed in?
Obviously not or you would not have spoke like I do not know about robots. I was using robots in the early 90s at the manufacturing job I had, while putting myself through college.
Who runs the damn robots? People that needs jobs to pay for college.

I did not read ANYWHERE that it was labor costs only. We also plan on moving the supply chain and the jobs to America.

Each country needs to be as independent as possible. Not being independent is a main cause of wars, probably only second to GREED and Ignorance.

Shit's getting real, read this about China telling it's airlines not to take delivery or buy Boeing airplanes and parts.

"The Chinese government has told the country's domestic airlines to stop accepting deliveries of Boeing jets as a trade war between the world's two largest economies escalates, Bloomberg News reports.

China is also instructing its carriers to stop buying airline parts and other components from U.S. companies, according to Bloomberg, which cited people familiar with the situation.

Boeing declined to comment. The aviation giant's shares fell $2.59, or 1.6%, to $156.74 in morning trading."

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/china-boei ... p-tariffs/

This is not good news for Boeing.

https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/chin ... 39224.html
"Chinese airlines have begun returning Boeing aircraft to the U.S., with one 737 Max recently landing back at a Boeing production hub in Seattle over the weekend, according to Reuters.

Saturday’s return occurred shortly after China ordered its airlines not to take further deliveries of Boeing aircraft in response to the U.S. imposing 145% tariffs on Chinese goods, Bloomberg News reported last week.

A trio of 737 Max 8 jets that were originally being readied at Boeing’s Zhoushan delivery center for two Chinese airlines were recalled to the U.S. last week, according to aviation news service The Air Current, citing two people familiar with Boeing’s plans.

Reuters confirmed over the weekend that a witness saw a Boeing jet intended for China’s Xiamen Airlines landing back at the planemaker’s production hub in Seattle. The aircraft, which was painted with Xiamen livery, was one of the several 737 Max jets waiting at the Zhoushan completion center for final work and delivery to the Chinese carrier."

It's all very well Trump saying he wants to manufacture chips or mobile phones in America, but what about all the other stuff made in China. How many Americans are going to want to earn 50 bucks a day working 12-14 hour shifts in some giant textile factory making jeans for Levis or sneakers for Nike ???? I suspect not many

oh god, please help us in our hour of need. Educate these poor under informed people with the information they need to have the best perspective on what is really good.

People look into the big picture.
China has started lowering THEIR tariffs (secretly, not announcing them.)
The anti trump media is NOT telling you this.
As they do this trump will start lowering tariffs.
Also are you aware of how much money has been brought in to pay of the national dept for America?
This is more important than you winning about cost of things now.
Decrease your consumption if you can not afford things.
Help out your children and grandchildren by lowering the DEBT they will be FORCED to pay.

Do you know the meaning of reciprocal?

Why should Americans pay high tariffs to other countries and not charge the same or higher tariffs to those same countries?
Why should Americans pay to protect other countries?
Why should we pay high tariffs to China so they can build up their army to then threaten the countries around them/

It might take you a few hours to actually find some accurate information on this, but this is NOT just about tariffs.
