12 dozen (144 eggs) for $20
i understand that not everyone has access to local farmers, time, etc

OMG! even at our grocery store they aren't more than $5.99 a carton, a little more if you want organic, but the lowest I've seen them here are $5.99, but again I also know a "hookup" that we're getting 12 dozen plus 2 full chickens for $41AlexO wrote: ↑February 17th, 2025, 3:37 pmWe were shopping yesterday and a dozen eggs cost me $9.99 thats a lot manangryasshlyn wrote: ↑February 17th, 2025, 3:23 pmI'm here in canada, they haven't increased, but i also buy from a local farmer a few miles away.

The bird flu has been making it's way through the US farms. To keep it from wiping out other flocks, massive amounts of chickens were killed (the virus doesn't pass on to humans if chicken or eggs or cooked by the way).
While the situation is not dire yet, it is serious. The virus has spread to cattle and ranch hands. Making things worse, ranchers refused to let inspectors check out their cattle for the virus.
While eggs are more reasonable in Canada and Mexico, it's very conceivable the nations didn't drop the ball on this. By the way, this has happened before in China when relations with the US were better, but China moved quickly to cull the infected flocks back then.

Over the years I have read studies where they say eggs are bad for you, then eggs are good for you. I eat them the same way I eat every thing else, in moderation.

I can not eat eggs unless they are hard boiled, they make me visit the women's room a few times , so i avoid them when eating out .

They can have bacteria that makes you very sick I know a few people who got sick from eating under cooked eggs.So I always cook mine to where the yolk is not runny.

Under cooked or raw eggs can lead to Salmonella poisoning. You'll never see me eat an egg that has not been hard boiled or cooked well.
