[TECH NEWS] A federal judge ruled "Google is a Monopolist"
This is a landmark ruling against Google. All eyes to see what follows next, an appeal is obvious to me but what then.......
"On Monday, a federal judge ruled against search-engine giant Google in a landmark case that alleged the company acted illegally to keep a monopoly in search. The case has the potential to change how tech companies do business, as well as how their customers find answers to their online search queries.
"After having carefully considered and weighed the witness testimony and evidence, the court reaches the following conclusion: Google is a monopolist, and it has acted as one to maintain its monopoly," US District Judge Amit Mehta Mehta wrote. "It has violated Section 2 of the Sherman Act.""

If they are deemed to be a monopoly then they could be broken up by the monopolies and mergers commission.
I cant see that happening though. They tried this with Microsoft back in the day but they didn't want to ruin one of America's most succesful companies. I guess the same will apply here

They might not go as far as breaking it up how ever they can impose some tough rules and heavy fines.

This reminded me of the search engines before Google became the top dog. Excite, Lycos and Alta Vista.
Those were the Wild West days of adult.

Alphabet Inc lawyers will be making money
Getting rich takes making money, saving a nickel will not make you rich if you never make the buck

Microsoft Windos and Apple Macintosh battling it out for the desktop market and Microsoft Windows had come out on top. Apple was on the verge of going under but Microsoft couldn't let that happen because it would mean that Microsoft would then be a monopoly and would be broken up by the Monopolies and Mergers Commission. So Bill Gates was forced to invest millions of dollars in his main competitor just to keep them afloat. Crazy when you think about it LOL
