This morning I took out the packaging form the trash can to see what it said, I was sure the date was the same day as I bought it, it sure was but on there in fine print under the price it had "Mechanically tenderized."
I have never seen that line "Mechanically tenderized" before, or have not paid attention to it. I looked it up and that is a disclosure Canadian retailers have to disclose on meats that are in essence made to be more tender by punching fine holes into it to break up the muscle and may also contain chemicals to soften up the meat.
What the hell I never knew this my bad but I will always check the label to make sure I never buy any meat with that "Mechanically tenderized" label.
Have a good day.
