Crowdstrike says global outage is being fixed
What is Crowdstrike I have not heard of it until today.
"WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — A global technology outage grounded flights, knocked banks and hospital systems offline and media outlets off air on Friday in a massive disruption that affected companies and services around the world and highlighted dependence on software from a handful of providers.
Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike said that the issue believed to be behind the outage was not a security incident or cyberattack — and that a fix was on the way. The company said the problem occurred when it deployed a faulty update to computers running Microsoft Windows."

Why I prefer cash over cashless payments, the banking network goes down you get stuck paying for gas or groceries.

I usually keep $100 in cash on me when I'm out and about. You never know.
I also have an old fashioned checkbook tugged away in a drawer at home.

AirNow.gov , EPA air quality site, was down until a couple hours ago. I use their app to check on air quality before deciding to go outside and it's been showing "N/A" since this shit happend.

Dehumidifier in the basement. I no longer go down there since my lungs are too shot to handle stairs. No air purifiers. I try to keep dust and pet hair under control, HVAC filters clean, chemical and scent usage to a minimum.

The way cashless is progressing that it will not be common in a few more years. I remember during the pandemic many places would not accept cash, one time I filled my car with gas and walked in to buy cigarettes and pay the power went out. The cash was down, the place turned dark and this guy was asking for ID' copy of the car registration to make sure we came back to pay. I said here is the money forget the cigarettes let me pay for the gas, he refused cash.Boner wrote: ↑July 25th, 2024, 6:54 amI keep a few bucks in my wallet too,you stop at a 7-11 want a coffee or buy a bottle of water who whips out their bank card for a couple bucks.
