If you are a citizen that lives in poverty, then you qualify.

Also if:

You can also get Medi-Cal if you are:

65 or older

Blind

Disabled

Under 21

Pregnant

In a skilled nursing or intermediate care home

On refugee status for a limited time, depending how long you have been in the United States

A parent or caretaker relative of an age eligible child

Have been screened for breast and/or cervical cancer (Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program)

If you are enrolled in one of the following programs, you can also get Medi-Cal:

CalFresh
SSI/SSP
CalWorks (AFDC)
Refugee Assistance
Foster Care or Adoption Assistance Program

So, plenty of California citizens are getting the same program. It is assumed that everybody else can afford insurance through ACA or can get it through their employers.

As I said, they are trying to make healthcare affordable for everyone, an idea that you Magats find unconscionable. You would rather see people die than ever show compassion.

It is not a perfect plan as you can't please everybody all the time. Personally, I feel that we (the people of USA) are rich enough to provide some compassion for those who struggle in our country, whether they are citizens or not.

This could get tricky because I oppose illegal immigration people should apply get vetted and come in legally. Why do people risk their lives cross into the country because they want a job. You take away a guy's job he will do anything to feed himself and his family. Now what do I think of free healthcare for illegals, just do it. You do not want to be the inhumane country where you let people die of disease for lack of money. How about denying illegals healthcare and they get sick pass on the disease to the people they interact with, anyone want to think back to Covid.

Second education, give everyone the opportunity to get educated. It is a known fact (at least it is for me) people who are educated get higher paying jobs, become better individuals in society and do less illegal acts such as being in gangs.

Going back to why I said they come over to get a pay check and support their families back home, so give them an education help them assimilate into society and contribute to their communities.

You think they work for $20 an hour on farms, construction sites, in the hospitality industry. Who cleans your homes, cuts your lawn or baby sites your kids, think for a second. Most Americans will not work for the sub-standard pay, conditions or lack of benefits they work for.

In conclusion yes I want to see people enter the country legally but be practical, you either build the wall and secure the southern border or you have to think in practical terms once they are in.
